As the fall out from the new competition continues, the Red Devils, Blues and Gunners have confirmed they have left the European Clubs Association

After preparations for a European Super League were revealed, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal withdrew from the European Club Association (ECA), and Ed Woodward stepped down from his job with UEFA.

In September 2017, United's executive vice-chairman Woodward was voted as an ECA delegate to UEFA's Professional Football Strategy Council. He used to counsel and assist in the organization of European football's governing body, but now that the ESL has broken free from UEFA's conventional European competitions, he will no longer be in that role.
