At the Lusail Iconic Stadium on Friday, Argentina and the Netherlands will play in the World Cup quarterfinal.
The Netherlands have extended their unbeaten streak to 19 games across all competitions after winning three and drawing one of their four matches at this FIFA World Cup. They defeated the USA 3-1 in the round of 16, and in their last four games, they have kept two clean sheets and scored two goals or more in three of those games. With three goals in the team's first three games, Cody Gakpo has contributed well.
Despite losing to Saudi Arabia in the tournament's opening match, Argentina has won three straight games. In these four games, they have scored three goals. In three of their seven encounters, they did, however, lose to the Netherlands. Despite defeating their opponent in the 2014 World Cup semifinals via a penalty shootout, they have failed to score in their last three head-to-head matches.
There haven't been any goals scored in their most recent meetings, but given how well both teams have attacked in this tournament, I'm going to back a scoreless draw after 90 minutes.
