This Saturday is the quarterfinal World Cup 22 game between England and France.
The Three Lions have so far in the campaign been tremendously outstanding, scoring three goals or more in each of their first four games, especially in the last 16 round when they destroyed Senegal 3-0. The fact that England has gone three games without losing is encouraging, and Southgate may make history by leading England to a semi-final.
In order to maintain their chances of winning consecutive championships, the defending champions overcame Poland 3-1. In their last ten knockout games against other UEFA nations, France has won eight of them, and in five of the last seven World Cups, they have reached the quarterfinals.
The outcome of Saturday's game may depend on each country's capacity to control Bellingham and Mbappe's star abilities, but we are having trouble visualizing how England can triumph while France can only be expected to do so.
